For employees who will…
…Have financial responsibilities;
…Have access to your (or a client’s/customer’s) money, assets, or inventory; and/or …Work with, gather, or prepare sensitive financial information,
a credit report can help assess whether or not a candidate poses a risk for the misuse of
assets. A credit report is provided that shows current and former addresses, credit lines, outstanding balances, numbers and types of accounts, and payment history.
A special authorization is required to obtain this report, and employers should be
conversant with the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act as it regards the use of data obtained from credit checks.
